It was a night to remember, or maybe one to forget. Kobe Bryant’s final season hasn’t been a memorable one, considering the Lakers currently have a terrible record of 16-65, with one game remaining against the Utah Jazz. Last night was no different, as the Lakers fell to the Thunder by 33 points, 112-79. Bryant finished with 13 points on 4 of 12 shooting, only playing 19 minutes.
After the game Kobe was quoted as saying, “I couldn’t move, man. I played the first quarter and I tried to give it all I had, and then sitting down in the second quarter, I tried to loosen up in the locker room coming out for the second half, but I couldn’t move well at all”. Couple that with the fact that in the second half the game was never really that close and you get Bryant playing only 19 minutes and scoring 13. The Lakers have also wanted to rest Kobe for his final home game tomorrow, so that factored in to the minutes as well.
Kobe Bryant is definitely one of those guys that you either love him or hate him, there is no middle ground. And to be honest I’ve been on the hate side of Kobe. That being said he is still fun to watch and after Wednesday’s game against the Jazz, one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball will no longer be lacing his shoes up and running out onto the court. Congratulations on a great career Kobe Bryant.
